MANILA – The Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) will adjust its rules to help lower the price of sugar to P50 per kilo from the current P60 to P65 per kilo, Trade secretary Ramon Lopez said.
Lopez said the SRA made the commitment after its meeting with DTI.
Bakit? Tulad ng affected sector, which will be the sugar producers. Yung fees na yun will have to be adjusted,” he added.
The SRA previously said it is looking into an importation program to address the rising prices of raw and refined sugar following the drop in production this year. (ABS-CBN News)
