SAN JOSE, Antique– Nine establishments involved in food, general merchandise, engineering, and various service business received written notices from the Social Security System (SSS) for violation of Republic Act 11199 or Social Security Act of 2018.
SSS Acting Vice President for Visayas West 2 Division Angelo O. Blancaver led the Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) Campaign last September 13 which targeted business owners who failed to remit the past-due contributions of their 61 employees amounting to P1.9 million, inclusive of accrued penalties.
“They are mandated by the law to report all their employees with SSS within 30 days upon employment. Also, employer should remit the SS and EC contributions, both the employer and worker’s share to the SSS. We are notifying them to settle their delinquencies for their employees’ eligibility to benefit claims. This will ensure their workers social security protection in times of contingencies,” Blancaver said.
Employers who received the written notice were given a non-extendable period of 15 days to report to the nearest SSS branch and settle their delinquencies. Failure to comply, either deliberate or not, will resort to SSS filing cases against them.
“We are urging these employers to avail of our contribution penalty condonation program to settle their delinquency in full or through installment up to 48 months, depending on the amount. Our Account Officers will assist and guide them on their application process to ensure they fully understood the terms and conditions of the program,” Blancaver concluded.
As of September 2023, SSS Visayas West 2 already visited 92 delinquent employers around Panay and Guimaras island with initial collection of over P2.3 million.
