The Social Security System (SSS) conducted another round of visits to non-compliant employers during its Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) Campaign held last February 9 and 10 in Panay Island.
SSS Kalibo and Roxas branches issued show cause orders to 12 delinquent employers due to non-remittance of contributions with combined delinquency and accrued penalties of P1.63 million.
SSS Acting Head of Visayas West 2 Division Angelo O. Blancaver said that delinquent employers can avail of the ongoing Penalty Condonation Program for employers to conveniently settle their contribution delinquencies.
“We are here to help our delinquent employers by offering flexible installment ranging from 12 to 48 months, depending on their total delinquent amount. Aside from that the accumulated penalties will be condoned after the settlement has been completed based on their approved payment plan. The SSS, by all, means, will collect the contribution delinquency from these employers for the social security protection of their 97 employees,” Blancaver said.
The timely remittance of SSS contribution is very crucial on employee-member’s eligibility to SSS benefits such as sickness, maternity, disability, unemployment, retirement, death and funeral, including loan privileges like salary, calamity, educational, and pension loan.
Employers may coordinate with their respective account officers assigned at Kalibo or Roxas Branch for them to be assisted in the application. Kalibo Branch is located at Roxas Ave. Andagao, Kalibo, Aklan while SSS Roxas is located at City Mall Annex Bldg., Arnaldo Boulevard, Roxas, City.
Blancaver also shared that SSS Visayas West 2 Division has already conducted 12 Operations in 2022 and collected an initial P3.55 million from 35 employers.
We will never cease to conduct this activity unless all registered businesses will voluntarily fulfill their obligations without the need of calling their attention. Employers should make it a habit to prioritize their employee’s active SSS membership so that they are protected in time of contingencies,” Blancaver concluded./PN
