SANTA Clarita International School Primes and Hercor College Junior Jaguars entered the finals of the National Basketball Training Center Regional Finals held in Roxas City.
The Primes, the NBTC-Iloilo champion, and Junior Jaguars, the NBTC-Capiz champion, reached the finals after topping their brackets during the preliminaries on Sunday at the Dayao Gym.
The Primes kicked off its campaign with a 118-64 victory over Aklan Polytechnic with Ralph Bajon unloading 38 points before following it up with a 133-83 domination over Col. Ruperto Abellon National High School of Antique.
The Junior Jaguars, which was recently crowned as the WVRAA Meet champion, first scored a 112-57 win over Guimaras State College with Clint John Mesias leading the way with 19 points.
The Junior Jaguars followed that lopsided win with another rout to fellow Capiznon Saint Mary’s Academy of Capiz, 96-79. Janwell Famaranco was hailed as the Player of the match with 19 points.
The winner of the Primes-Junior Jaguars gold medal match, which is still being played as of presstime, will qualify to the NBTC National Finals in Manila next month./PN
