Sta. Clarita-Iloilo goes 3-0 in Bingawan basketball

SANTA Clarita International School Primes cruised to its third straight win in the 2019 Bingawan Foundation Cup-Preseason High School Basketball Premier Tournament-Season 3 on Sunday at the Bingawan Gym.

The Primes leaned on the towering presence of 6-foot-3 newcomer Rogelle Alvaladejo to score a lopsided 97-76 victory over the Assumption School-Passi City Golden Doves (1-1).

The 15-year-old Lemery, Iloilo native Alvaladejo finished with double-double 14 points and 10 blocks as the Primes remained on top of Group A with unblemished 3-0 win-loss card.

Isa si Rogelle sa mga newcomers namin this year. He is still a diamond in a rough but I see a lot of potential in him both on offense and defense,” said Primes head coach Rodel Camacho.

“We are positive sa ipinapakita ng mga new players ko even if we are still in the adjustment stage since madamidami rin ang nawala from our team last year,” he added.

In the other match, the Mary Immaculate Academy Saints finally tasted a victory after surviving a tough challenge from the Westbridge School, 85-83.

Kian Mark Robles waxed hot from beyond the arc to be hailed as the player of the match for the Saints with 24 points./PN
