Stabbing incidents mar Talisay festival

BACOLOD City — Two stabbing incidents at the public plaza in Talisay City yesterday marred the city’s Minuluan Festival.

Rodjan De Los Santos, 19, of Libertad Street, Barangay 19 here was stabbed at about 3 a.m. when festival activities were wrapping up, said Inspector Vernon John Llovido, Talisay City deputy police chief.

De Los Santos was brought to the Teresita Jalandoni Memorial Provincial Hospital for treatment.

Thirteen teenagers belonging to a “fraternity” were behind the stabbing, police records showed.

An hour later, Miguel Elcano, 24, of Barangay Busay, Talisay City died after he was stabbed in the chest while sleeping on a bench at the plaza, Llovido said.

Elcano was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital here but was declared dead on arrival.

Talisay policemen are investigating the incidents./PN
