HIGH school girl spikers from Sun Yat Sen High School and Hua Siong College of Iloilo Red Phoenix remained undefeated in the 2018 Iloilo Schools Sports Association Meet volleyball in Iloilo City.
Sun Yat Sen cruised to a 25-0, 25-10 straight-set victory over Santa Clarita International School Primes while Red Phoenix trampled on CenterPhil Montessori Silver Knights 25-7, 25-23 on Sunday at the Dentistry Gym of the Iloilo Doctors’ College.
In the other secondary girls match, University of San Agustin made a quick work of Bethany Life Christian Academy 25-4, 25-9 for their second victory in three matches.
Sun Yat Sen and Red Phoenix tied with Ateneo de Iloilo and Saint Joseph School on top (2-0 win-loss), while Primes and Bethany were equals with a 0-2 slate, and the still winless Primes were at the tail-end (0-3).
In the boys’ matches, San Agustin surged to solo first place with a 3-0 win-loss slate following a 25-16, 25-20 domination of the Red Phoenix, which dropped to a 1-2 card.
In elementary girls, Ateneo de Iloilo went 2-0 after a 25-20, 25-6 sweep of Hua Siong (1-1) while San Agustin barged into the win column by routing St. Joseph School 25-11, 25-5 after losing their opening-day match. St. Joseph is now 0-2./PN
