IN A surprising twist, comedienne Ethel Booba said that the popular Twitter page, which has long been attributed to her – @IamEthylGabison – is a fake account.
This was what Ethel clarified on her Instagram page with the username @ethelbooba during the Holy Week.
Posting a screenshot of the said Twitter page, Ethel wrote on the caption: “BEWARE of this FAKE! twitter! #StopUsingMyName #fake #fakenews #peke.”
On a number of occasions, Ethel Booba had referenced the aforementioned account, opened in January 2012, and even talked about how she manages it with other administrators.
When she announced giving birth in February, it was done on @IAmEthylGabison. An image of her newborn daughter was also shared there.
In 2016, Ethel Booba released a book, “#Charotism: The Wit and Wisdom of Ethel Booba,” which contains her viral tweets.
The said Twitter page and its witty posts would often trend online with people thinking it was actually from Ethel. While it is no longer available on Twitter as of press time, it earned more than 1.6 million followers.(ABS-CBN/Push)
