ILOILO City – Did a brother’s bite kill a man in Antique’s municipality of Hamtic?
Did a 19-year-old lad in San Jose hang himself to death?
In Barangay Buhang, Hamtic, 22-year-old Ronnie Sasi died minutes after a brawl with elder brother Randy, 32.
Randy admitted to having bitten Ronnie on the chest during their fight, but said he did that in self-defense.
Randy was drunk, aggressive and tried to attack his mother, so Ronnie tried to stop him, said their father.
It was then that Randy bit Ronnie, who collapsed and died.
Randy was taken to the Hamtic police station. Police are keen to charge him with parricide.
But what exactly caused of Ronnie’s death remains a mystery. He may have suffered a heart attack during the brawl, local doctors said.
Ronnie’s medical history may prove useful, they said.
Aside from being an asthmatic, Ronnie also had one kidney left; he donated one to a person in need years ago, it was learned.
In the capital town of San Jose, policemen are not sure if James Almeria committed suicide.
Almeria was found hanging from the ceiling of their house on Saturday night in Barangay Atabay.
Elder brother Jerome discovered James’ body around 8:30 p.m.
It was suspended from the ceiling, a rope tied around James’ neck.
The family believed James killed himself, said Jerome, but he offered no explanation why his brother would end his own life.
At the time of the alleged suicide, James only had one companion in the house – his father.
“My father was sleeping already when I reached home and discovered James’ body,” Jerome said./PN
