ILOILO City – Two men were tagged in the stealing of a student’s cellular phone and money yesterday.
Arnel Villasis, 40, of Barangay San Juan, Molo district and Jomar Deneros, 35, of Barangay Calaparan, Arevalo district were positively identified by the student, 20-year-old Collin Bolivar.
Bolivar told the police she was on board a passenger jeepney around 11 a.m. when Villasis, who was sitting beside her, stole her cellular phone and wallet that contained P900.
Acting on Bolivar’s complaint, the police looked for the suspects and found them in their respective homes. They promised to return the student’s phone and money.
According to Police Station 1 chief Aldren Lamera, Villasis was recently released from the Iloilo District Jail in Barangay Nanga, Pototan, Iloilo for a frustrated homicide case.
