MANILA – F2 Logistics Cargo Movers continued its perfect run in the 2018 Philippine Superliga All Filipino Conference. It swept Cocolife Asset Managers, 25-13, 25-16, 25-8, at the San Juan Arena.
Ilongga Abigail Marano tallied 10 attacks, three blocks and three aces for 16 points on Thursday.
Kim Kianna Dy and Mary Joy Baron chipped in 12 and 10 markers, respectively.
The Cargo Movers’ victory was a huge morale boost ahead of a gigantic battle against defending champion Petron Blaze Spikers tonight at the Alonte Sports Arena in Biñan City in a rematch of last year’s finals.
“We had a good rest prior to this game,” said Cargo Movers head coach Ramil de Jesus. “That rest and recovery had a very good effect. They had good connection on the court.”
Filipina-American spiker Kalei Mau finished with 13 markers despite dealing with injury to lead the way for the Asset Managers, which remained winless in three matches this conference.
The Blaze Spikers also scored a huge victory ahead of its rematch with the Cargo Movers. It took down new-look Smart Giga Hitters in straight sets, 25-23, 25-14, 25-18.
Ilongga Aiza Maizo-Pontillas delivered 12 hits including 11 digs and four excellent receptions, while Mika Reyes added 11 markers for the Blaze Spikers, which also hiked its slate to 3-0.
In the other match, Foton Tornadoes stretched its unbeaten run to three after a 25-14, 25-21, 19-25, 25-13 win over Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors.
Carmina Aganon continued her fine play for the Tornadoes with 19 points./PN
