BACOLOD City – The man who stabbed to death a female teacher in Barangay Banquerohan, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental was arrested yesterday.
Delleon Del Rosario, 39, of Barangay Singcang-Airport in this city was caught in a hot pursuit operation around 1:30 a.m.
Del Rosario was taken to the Cadiz City police station, then to the court house at the Cadiz City Hall for inquest proceedings, where he was met by an angry mob.
Twenty-eight-year-old Jessica Ducay died of fatal stab wounds on Oct. 6 in her house.
The suspect also reportedly carted away her P79,000 cash.
In a radio interview, Del Rosario claimed he had no intention to kill the teacher, but she allegedly hit him “numerous times” with a chair.
Del Rosario said he only wanted the money for his birthday on Oct. 6, the day of the crime./PN
