ILOILO – The Lambunao Municipal Police Station (MPS) has identified the suspect in the killing of a construction worker who was found dead in Poblacion Ilawod, Lambunao town on Sunday, June 30.

Ronaldo “Bugoy” Celiz was arrested around 12:20 p.m. on Monday, July 1.

A murder charge will be filed against the suspect, according to Major Roy Tayona, chief of the Lambunao MPS.

Tayona said the suspect was positively identified by a witness who refused to be named.

The witness told the police he saw Celiz stabbing and striking JP Lego with a wood.

The police chief added that the suspect allegedly held a grudge against Lego, and that the victim was last seen alive with Celiz having a drinking binge at the construction barracks.

The suspect was the caretaker of the construction site where Lego and his cousin Ryan Catedrilla was working.

In an interview on Sunday, Celiz confirmed he was with Lego at the barracks but he said the latter left at around 6 p.m. to meet with his friend and did not return./PN
