Suspect in series of snatching cases fall

ILOLO City – A suspect in a series of snatching cases was arrested in Barangay Cubay, Jaro district.

The 23-year-old Mar Louie Sensoro, a resident of Barangay Cubay, was taken to the La Paz police station at around 4 p.m. on Sunday.

He was caught by the police selling an iPhone snatched from a call center agent last week.

According to Police Captain Mark Evan Salvo, La Paz police chief,  Sensoro’s arrest was the result of a follow-up operation in relation to a call center agent’s complaint that motorcycle-riding men snatched his cellular phone on Aug. 20.in La Paz.

The police chief described Sensoro as a “notorious robber.”

“We have been monitoring him and his companion for several months already,” Salvo added.

An entrapment operation was hatched. A police asset sought out the suspect and said he was looking to buy an iPhone mobile phone.

“Sensoro did not know we were targeting him,” said Salvo.

Iloilo City police director Police Colonel Martin Defensor said the suspect and his companion would roam around the city, especially near call centers, to look for prospective victims.

“We are now looking for Sensoro’s companion. We are calling other snatching victims to surface,” said Defensor./PN
