ILOILO – A woman allegedly linked to a major illegal drugs network was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Jibao-an, Pavia, Iloilo, on Sunday, February 23.

The suspect identified as 26-year-old Johnlyn Ani “Tata” Betita was tagged as a high-value target.

Originally from Barangay Binawbawan, Pilar, Capiz, Betita had been temporarily residing in Pavia, police said.

During the operation, the Iloilo Police Provincial Office’s Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) Team 1 recovered six small sachets and two knot-tied packs of suspected shabu weighing around 260 grams and approximately valued at P1.7 million.

Also recovered was P14,000 in buy-bust money.

Police Major Dadjie Delima, leader of PDEU-Team 1, said Betita’s illegal drugs supply originated from Roxas City and Barangay Calumpang, Molo, Iloilo City.

He also revealed that before her arrest, Betita’s group had already delivered drugs to Passi City and Anilao town.

Authorities were still investigating the suspect’s possible connections to larger drug groups operating in the region.

Betita is currently detained at the Pavia Municipal Police Station. He is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
