ILOILO City – A suspected squad leader of the New People’s Army Central Front Committee surrendered on Wednesday, police said.
The 53-year-old Julio “Ka Pablo” Llanes was a resident of Barangay San Jose, Jamindan, Capiz.
He was charged with three counts of murder for the death of three soldiers in Capiz in 1999, said the police.
Llanes was reportedly among the “top most wanted” persons of the Interior and Defense departments. He had a bounty of P150,000.
He had allegedly led rebel groups that operated in Tapaz and Jamindan towns in Capiz and several towns in northern Iloilo.
Llanes is currently in the custody of intelligence operatives of the Police Regional Office 6./PN
