ILOILO City – A suspected sub-leader of the Odicta drug group was busted in Barangay Salvacion Habog-habog, Molo district.
The 46-year-old Angelo Robles sold a sachet of shabu to an undercover police officer yesterday around 4 a.m.
From his house, Robles was taken to the Molo police station.
The police recovered 12 sachets of shabu valued at P3,600 and a homemade .357 revolver with four ammunitions.
Robles was an ex-convict; he was jailed for a murder case in Iloilo City, said Senior Inspector Mark Cordero, Molo police chief.
“He was placed under surveillance after he was released from prison,” said Cordero.
Robles was remitted to the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City after the court here convicted him for murder.
After several years, however, Robles was transferred to the Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm in Occidental Mindoro.
It was while in Mindoro that Robles established contacts with some illegal drug players, said Cordero.
Robles surrendered to the Molo police station last month. He claimed he was using illegal drugs.
Cordero, however, said Robles worked for slain suspected drug lord Melvin “Boyet” Odicta Sr./PN
