ILOILO City – A 35-year-old woman drug pushing suspect was arrested in a buy-bust operation of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Barangay Ungka, Jaro district.
Director Wardley Getalla believed Julie Ann Palomar of Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao district was a “down line” of slain drug lord Richard Prevendido, also a resident of Barangay Bakhaw.
Palomar was collared around 5:30 p.m. after an undercover PDEA personnel was able to buy from her five grams of shabu valued at P30,000.
The transaction happened a few meters away from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology’s (BJMP) male dormitory.
Getalla said Palomar was a high-value target.
“The suspect did not resist when we arrested her,” he added.
Palomar was under surveillance for three months prior to Monday’s sting operation.
“We wanted to know her buyers were and the scope of her operation,” said Getalla.
Prevendido was killed in a shootout with policemen in Barangay Balabago, Jaro district on Sept. 1.
Palomar’s live-in partner, John Dee Paches, was arrested in April this year in a buy-bust operation and now detained at the BJMP male dormitory, he added./PN
