Suspects in courier company robbery identified

ILOILO City – The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) said two of the three suspects in the burglary of an express courier company in Barangay Quintin Salas, Jaro district were already identified.

They were identified by witnesses through a rogue’s gallery and closed-circuit television camera footage, said Police Major Shella Mae Sangrines, ICPO spokesperson.

The Jaro police, headed by officer-in-charge Captain Lester Olivers, are now conducting a hot pursuit operation.

Around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, three men entered the J&T Express office and declared, “Holdup ‘ni, indi kamo maghulag kay paniruhon ta kamo!”

Jade Ann Blanco, 26, the company’s finance administrator, and another employee, Blandino Paner, 21, were held at gunpoint, police said.

The suspects carted away P622,966 in cash. Two cellular phones and around P6,000 in cash from two employees were also taken./PN
