ILOILO City – Police arrested three suspects in the killing of a 21-year-old man in Barangay Baybay Norte, Miag-ao, Iloilo.
Miag-ao police chief Captain Josevito Bose identified them as brothers Rene Boy and Renesto Suspeno both of Barangay Dalihi, Miag-ao and a 16-year-old minor of Barangay Fundacion, Miag-ao.
Bose said the suspects admitted killing 20-year-old Kevin Christian Soriano, a resident of Barangay Guibongan, Miag-ao.
Soriano’s body was discovered under the Tumagbok Bridge in Barangay Baybay Norte around 6:50 a.m. on Feb. 25. The victim had injury on his forehead and multiple stab wounds on the body, according to
Bose.
The suspects and the victim are working in Miag-ao public market, said Bose.
Prior to the incident, Bose said the three suspects and the victim were seen having a drinking session at a nipa hut around 11 p.m. on Feb. 24. The following day, Soriano was found dead.
Detained in the lockup cell of the municipal police station, the three suspects said they killed the victim because of misunderstanding.
“It’s a simple misunderstanding because they were all drunk. Walang malalim na motibo para dahilan na patayin nila ang biktima, but I considered this case closed because all the suspects were arrested and they admitted the crime,” Bose said./PN
