ILOILO City – Uswag Ilonggo Partylist’s Cong. Jojo Ang, along with Technical Education and Skills Development Authority’s (TESDA) Regional Director Evan Ruiz, awarded a total of 2,300 tech-skills scholars their national certifications for various skills training programs in Iloilo and Capiz.
TESDA’s Iloilo director Ester Babalo and Guimaras director Jonathan Togonon, and heads of various partner schools also awarded the top-performing scholars in their courses.
The event was also supported by Gov. Arthur “Toto” Defensor Jr., the regional chairman of Uswag Ilonggo Partylist, and Mayor Jerry Treñas. Roxas City’s Mayor Ronnie Dadivas also supported the Capiz graduation ceremony.
Graduates came from a variety of courses, including Events Management Services National Certificate III (NC) Level III, Bread and Pastry Production NC II, Computer System Servicing NC II, Organic Agriculture Production NC II, Agro-entrepreneurship NC II, Barista NC II, Heavy Equipment Operation (Wheel Loader) NC II, Heavy Equipment Operation (Bulldozer) NC II, Hilot (Wellness Massage) NC II, Driving (Passenger Bus/Straight Truck) NC III, and Caregiving NC III.
Programs in Capiz included Housekeeping NC II, Food and Beverage Services NC II, Ships Catering Service NC II, Hilot, Wellness Massage NC II, and Driving or Straight Truck NC III.
The new graduates will become part of the Uswag Ilonggo TESDA Alumni Organization that was also launched on Monday.
Aside from the graduation events, TESDA Negros Occidental also awarded Uswag Ilonggo Partylist and Cong. Ang for being one of its outstanding partners and benefactors.
“Ang skills training kag program isa sa aton nahatagan sang prayoridad tungod ang skills amo ina ang indi makawat sa aton tanan. Nabuligan ta ang mga pumuluyo naton maka-angkaon sang kaalam para sa ila pag-ubra. This paves the way for sustainable development and progress,” said Ang.
Aside from Iloilo, Capiz and Negros Occidental, Uswag Ilonggo Partylist and TESDA also have skills training programs in Aklan and Antique.
