Swedish rider rules Asian Onroad round in Bacolod

SWEDISH rider Alexander Hagber dominated the Modified Touring event of the Asian Onroad Championship (AOC) Round 2 at the Bacolod Central District Speedway in Bacolod City.

Hagder of Team XRay edged reigning world champion Fil-German Ronald Voelker of Team Yokomo while his Thai teammate Meen Vejrak settled for third place in the weekend event.

John Puse of Team Yokomo, meanwhile, dominated the Stock Touring 17.5 followed by Team XRay’s Lex Tyler as Bacolod’s Leo Rey Yanson of Team LRY finished eighth overall.

Tutoy Aldaba ruled the Scale Tub Class followed by Benji Ecleo and Wilfredo Sevilla, while German Jan Ratheisky topped the Super Stock 13.5 category followed by Yuchiro Takaya and Jomil dela Cruz.

Around 80 racers from across Asia and some parts of the world participated in the second round. It was the first time that the prestigious racing event was held in the Philippines.

The AOC is a group of events that goes around Asia and each year.

Its sixth season kicked off on April 5 to 7 at the RCI V2 Raceway in Shanghai, China.

Round 3 will be staged in Australia in July followed by South Korea in September and Japan in October./PN
