ILOILO City – A suspected swindler was arrested in an entrapment operation staged by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group’s (CIDG) Iloilo City Field Unit in Barangay Ungka II, Pavia, Iloilo.
The 31-year-old resident Marie Trexie Joguilon was caught around 6:40 p.m. on Tuesday.
Police Major Jess Baylon, CIDG-Iloilo City chief, said a complaint from a woman, whom he did not identify, prompted the entrapment operation.
Joguilon allegedly swindled P2,500 by promising her victim of employment at a restaurant in Manduriao district.
“On her Facebook, the suspect offered her victims a work and asked P2,500 for their medical processing fee. Once her victims pay the amount, she will block them to cut their communication,” Baylon said.
Baylon added that at least 12 persons reported to their office and claimed they were also duped by the suspect.
Joguilon was previously arrested in Jaro district for the same complaint but the case was dismissed.
“We know that more victims will surface following her arrest,” Baylon added.
