MANILA – Research institution IBON Foundation said on Sunday that the findings of a recent Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey painted an accurate picture of unemployment in the Philippines.
The SWS poll found that adult joblessness had risen to 22 percent in the third quarter, equivalent to around 9.8 million adults.
This was a 2.3-percentage point increase from the 19.7 percent during the second quarter, equivalent to around 8.6 million adults.
The IBON Foundation had claimed earlier this year that at least 300,000 Filipinos had lost their jobs since President Rodrigo Duterte took office in June 2016.
(GMA News)
