Talisay drug op nets P60T ‘shabu’

BACOLOD City – They allegedly engaged in selling illegal drug, police said.

The 52-year-old Ruel Palma and 28-year-old Roberto Deocadiz were caught in a drug buy-bust operation in Purok Mainuswagon, Barangay Bubog, Talisay City, Negros Occidental, a police report showed.

Suspected shabu weighing about 6 grams contained in eight plastic sachets and valued at around P60,000 was recovered from the suspects, police said.

Palma, a resident of Barangay Bubog, and Deocadiz, a resident of Barangay 6, Silay City, Negros Occidental, were arrested after they sold a sachet of the suspected shabu to an undercover officer for P300 around 4:20 p.m. on Saturday, the report stated.

Officers from the Talisay City police station staged the sting operation.

Aside from the suspected drugs, P600 cash believed to be proceeds from illegal drug transactions and drug paraphernalia were also seized from the suspects.

Palma and Deocadiz were detained in the lockup facility of the Talisay City police station.

They were facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
