BACOLOD City – Three persons were arrested for illegally selling petroleum products in Barangay Matab-ang, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.
They were the 70-year-old Leonardo Benjamin, the 50-year-old Teodoro Jimenez and the 46-year-old Joseph Jimenez.
Officers from the Talisay City police station caught them around 10:30 a.m. on Friday along the access road in the village.
Recovered from them were 20 bottles containing one liter of gasoline each, three plastic containers, 19 plastic gallons, and a plastic drum containing diesel.
The police also confiscated from them P910 cash, which was their proceeds for selling the petroleum products.
Benjamin and the Jimenezes were detained at the Talisay City police station lockup facility. They were facing charges for violation of Presidential Decree 1865, which incriminates the sale or distribution of petroleum products for profit and without license from the government./PN
