ILOILO – A knife was still stuck in the chest of a barangay tanod when he was rushed to the hospital following a stabbing incident in Barangay Capaliz, Dumangas town on Wednesday night, June 26.

The 51-year-old tanod Arnold Diaz of the said barangay was brought to the town’s Ramon Duremdez District Hospital but was transferred to Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao, Iloilo City for proper medical treatment.

The victim was in stable condition as of this writing.

The Dumangas police identified the suspects as Arjie Lacson of the town’s Barangay Bolilao and Jevie Decolongon of Barangay Sulangan.

Police reports showed that Diaz was walking on his way to the barangay hall at around 9:30 p.m. when he was confronted and allegedly mauled by Lacson.

Decolongon, who was with Lacson at that time and armed with a knife, intervened and stabbed Diaz, police said.

They added that Diaz and Lacson have a longstanding feud.
