‘Tanod’ shot to death

BACOLOD City – A village watchman died after five unidentified men peppered him with bullets in Sitio Camandag, Barangay Carol-an, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.

Kabankalan City police chief Superintendent Jonel Guadalupe identified the tanod as 40-year-old Cornelio “Odong” Morales.

It was around 5 p.m. on Tuesday when the gunmen attacked Morales who was standing at a waiting shed, a police report showed.

Morales sustained gunshot wounds on the different parts of the body, causing his immediate death.

Officers from the Kabankalan City police station were still identifying the motive in the shooting.

They have yet to catch the suspects who fled after the incident./PN
