Tanon College rules San Carlos leg of NBTC qualifier

SAN CARLOS City – Tanon College emerged as champion in the San Carlos City leg of the NBTC regional qualifier after sweeping Bagonbon National High School in their best-of-three finale at the Barangay 6 Covered Court here.

Tanon College first defeated Bagonbon National High in Game 1 early Saturday, 63-41, before they followed it up with an 89-52 domination in Game 2 later in the day.

John Paul Caballero emerged as San Carlos City qualifying leg’s Most Valuable Player for carrying the cudgels for Tanon College in the two finals match.

On their way to the championship round, Tanon College defeated Don Carlos Ledesma National High School, 77-55, while Bagonbon National High ousted Julio Ledesma National High School in the other semifinals match, 72-46.

After the San Carlos City leg, the rest of the NBTC qualifying legs in Negros Occidental in Silay City and Bacolod City is slated this January./PN
