ILOILO City – The San Jose police station in Antique created a taskforce that will focus on the case of a barangay treasurer who was gunned down by riding-in-tandem individuals in Barangay 8 on Thursday.
Police Major Benjo Clarete, San Jose police station chief, would be spearheading the taskforce.
Jose Servano Jr., 41, of Barangay Del Pilar, Hamtic town was shot at close range in front of the Old Capitol building. He died of a gunshot wound to the head.
The gunman used a .45-caliber pistol.
“We are gathering information from his constituents and family,” Clarete said.
The Police Regional Office 6’s Anti-Cyber Crime Office will also look into the closed-circuit television footage to determine the gunmen’s identities.
According to Del Pilar village chief, Adrian Macuja the victim had no known enemy.
Macuja was with the victim during Thursday’s attack. He was unharmed.
Macuja said the back rider was wearing a black jacket while the motorcycle driver was clad in a red shirt.
They used a black motorcycle to flee.
“The statement of his wife is very important. Basi may makuha kita nga information that could give us the lead,” Clarete said./PN
