ILOILO – A taxi driver was arrested in an antidrug operation in Barangay Calampitao, Miag-ao town.
Alias “Waway,” 54, and a resident of the town’s Barangay Kirayan Tacas, was arrested at 8:52 p.m. on Monday, May 6.
Joint operatives of the Miag-ao police station and Iloilo Police Provincial Office’s Drug Enforcement Unit recovered from the suspect two sachets of suspected shabu weighing around five grams and with a street value of P34,000, buy-bust item, and non-drug-related items.
Police Captain Francis Donne Lomahan, chief of the Miag-ao Municipal Police Station (MPS), said Waway was categorized as a street-level individual.
The suspect was taken into custody by the Miag-ao MPS.
He will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
