ILOILO – A wayward tricycle hit a public elementary school teacher in Barangay Agnaga, Concepcion, Iloilo.
The teacher, 56-year-old Tita Parejao of Puente Bunglas Elementary School, died while being treated at the Sara District Hospital on Monday.
The tricycle injured Parejao’s daughter and son, Carol Ann, 29, and Lino, 14.
The tricycle driver, 25-year-old Adonis Bansa, and his passenger Rachelle Lumawod were hurt, also.
The Parejaos were residents of Barangay Bunglas while Bansa and Lumawod were from Barangay Tipacla, Ajuy, Iloilo.
According to Police Master Sergeant Edzel Ray Casia of the Concepcion police station, the road mishap happened at 6:20 p.m. The Parejaoses were walking home.
Bansa hit the Parejaoses while avoiding a collision with a pickup running in the opposite direction, said Casia.
Bansa was detained at the Concepcion police station after he was released from the hospital./PN
