ILOILO City – A Grade 6 teacher was found dead in his room in Barangay San Roque, Barortac Viejo, Iloilo.
The 43-year-old Noel Jamosin of San Juan Elementary School had a gunshot wound at the back of his head.
He was found by his mother around 1 a.m. on Monday.
Family members heard a burst of gunfire the night before but did not mind it, said Chief Inspector Wilfredo Rios, Barotac Viejo police chief.
“Family members believed it was a case of accidental firing, not murder,” said Rios.
The bullet exited at Jamosin’s forehead.
A caliber .38 revolver was recovered from Jamosin’s bedroom.
Police investigators said Jamosin kept the gun under his bed.
“(A) suicide (scenario) was (unlikely) because the entry of the bullet was the back of his head. It would be difficult for him to shoot himself at the back of his head,” said Rios.
He added: “We are investigating the case to really make sure there was no foul play.”/PN
