BACOLOD City – A suspect in killing a teacher in La Castellana, Negros Occidental was caught on Tuesday.

Police led by Chief Inspector Alan Gary Resuma arrested Pedro Pacia, 24, in Barangay Camandag, La Castellana.

Pacia stabbed Hernani Octavio, 31, of Barangay Camandag, La Castellana — a teacher at the Cabacungan Elementary School — on March 10.

Octavio was stabbed on the back but the weapon pierced his stomach, police said.

Before the incident in the evening of March 10, Octavio was pacifying a drunken and unruly “Enting,” brother of Pacia. Enting thought Octavio was reprimanding his brother.

Pacia worked for the Octavios as an errand boy, according to the victim’s mother.

Octavio was about to leave Enting when Pacia went behind the teacher and stabbed him, said the police.

Pacia said he hid after the incident for fear that Octavio’s relative might get back at him./PN
