ILOILO – A 55-year-old father was shot dead by his 17-year-old son in Barangay Malitbog, Bingawan, Iloilo.
The victim identified as alias “Arian,” a member of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU) and a resident of the said place, succumbed to fatal gunshot wounds.
According to Lieutenant Philip Girao, chief of the Bingawan Municipal Police Station, the father was fetching water from the well when his son, alias “Toto”, shot him on the back using a caliber .38 revolver on Sunday morning, January 26. When the victim turned to face his son, he was shot again on the chest.
The victim was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Girao said the father and son had a heated argument two days before the incident, during which the former allegedly scolded and hurt the teenager.
As of this writing, the teenager was under the custody of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) where appropriate interventions were being arranged./PN
