ILOILO City – A pickup crashed against a cargo truck parked along the road in Barangay Guzman-Jesena, Mandurriao district, killing a young man and injuring three others.
The 19-year-old Regel Pesinio of Barangay Hibao-an, Mandurriao died of severe head and body injuries.
Those confined at the Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao were Pesinio’s elder brother Rulio, 21; Robert Rosales, 26, of Barangay Guzman-Jesena; and Argie Peñaflorida of Barangay Hibao-an.
The driver of the Isuzu pickup, Gianne Carlo Cepe, 21, was unhurt.
The vehicular accident happened around 5:30 a.m. The pickup was bound for the Mandurriao public plaza from Barangay Guzman-Jesena.
According to Superintendent Alexander Rosales, Iloilo City traffic chief, the pickup hit the left back side of the parked truck.
Witnesses said the pickup was running fast.
