ILOILO City – A fracas left a 15-year-old boy dead late Friday night in Barangay Compo, San Enrique, Iloilo.
Edgielo Delos Reyes of Palmares Street, Passi City died of a gunshot wound on the face.
The police identified a suspect – Robert Lallego, 22, of Barangay Compo and his group. As of this writing, their whereabouts remained unknown.
According to Senior Inspector Norbert Sipole, San Enrique police chief, the shooting happened around 11:35 p.m. Delos Reyes’ group was binge drinking in the compound of Romeo Colonel.
The suspect and his friends entered the compound.
Prior to this, Sipole said, the suspect’s group and the victim’s friends had a rumble nearby.
“The victim and his group thought that the suspects would no longer chase them. They were surprised when the other group pursued them there,” said Sipole.
A 12-gauge shotgun was used on Delos Reyes.
Delos Reyes died at the Don Valerio Palmares Sr. Memorial District Hospital in Passi City.
Sipole ordered a manhunt against the suspect and his friends.
“We are also preparing to file a complaint against them,” said Sipole./PN
