LAMBUNAO, Iloilo — A teenager in Brgy. Caningwan here is facing a frustrated parricide charge for his alleged attempt to kill his parents and brother.
The suspect was identified as 19-year-old Jerald Camare.
He hacked his father Paterno, 64, and mother Helen, 65, during an altercation in their house on Wednesday evening.
Both his parents were confined in a hospital in Iloilo City.
Police said the Camare family and their relatives were having a drinking spree in Camare house at the time.
When they were already drunk, a heated argument ensued among them.
Jerald then took a bolo from their kitchen and hacked the victims several times.
Jerald’s elder brother, Elne, tried to pacify him, but the suspect also hacked him. Luckily, Elne was not hit.
The brothers grappled for the possession of the bolo. Elne eventually got hold of the weapon and hacked Jerald.
Jerald, the youngest son of the Camare couple, was also confined in the hospital.
The couple sustained multiple hack wounds, while Jerald suffered superficial wounds./PN
