ILOILO City – Following a series of group fights involving teenagers outside a school in Barangay Wilson, City Proper, the city police have stepped up their presence.
Police Captain Roque Gemino III, chief of Police Station 1, said cops are being deployed outside A. Bonifacio National High School, especially around dismissal time, when these brawls typically erupt.
The police have already identified those involved and have spoken with them, their parents, and concerned barangay officials.
School guard Evangeline Arorong observed that the teenagers seem to only monitor the presence of police.
Arorong noted more than 10 incidents involving the same group of teenagers, who were armed with steel pipes, knives, and bolos.
“That’s why I thoroughly inspect their bags when the students enter the school premises,” said Arorong.
The incidents have been reported to the Iloilo City Schools Division Office./PN
