BACOLOD City – John Chiong, national commander of Task Force Kasanag (TFK), is facing civil and criminal complaints.
Ten residents of Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental filed the civil complaint against Chiong at the La Carlota City Regional Trial Court on Oct. 5.
They were Eden Flores, Romeo Vinson, Louie Presidente, Heide Vicente, Lady Sualog, Ely Estacion, Jerry Lorena, Verly Avila, Felicito Pandanduyan, and Gerardo Aligaan.
The criminal complaint, on the other hand, was filed on Oct. 3 by two other Moises Padilla residents Jocelyn Tablanza and Herna Vinson.
The complainants claimed that Chiong listed their names and forged their signatures in a complaint-affidavit against Moises Padilla mayor Magdaleno Peña filed at the Department of Interior and Local Government.
They demanded Chiong to pay them P200,000 each for moral damages and another P200,000 each for exemplary damages.
Chiong must also pay them back the P45,000 they spent for legal counsel fees, the complainants added.
Chiong said he is ready to face the complaints.
“Anybody can file a case against a person kon gapati sia nga insakto sia,” Chiong said, adding that he is hoping for a fair trial.
