BACOLOD City – Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. gave credit to capitol employees for the Seal of Good Local Governance that the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) conferred to Negros Occidental.
Marañon got hold of the Seal at his office yesterday.
Vice Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson and Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator Ma. Lina Sanogal received the Seal on Oct. 27 at the 2016 Philippine Local Governance Congress in Pasay City.
Marañon thanked and lauded the provincial government department heads and employees for their “excellent performance and support.”
“We were able to achieve this award because of your cooperation and hard work,” he said. “We hope to continue serving our constituents with zeal and excellence for the good of our beloved province.”
Only 306 local government units out of the 1,672 the DILG assessed received the Seal.
The award opens several opportunities for Negros Occidental, including entitlement to access the Performance Challenge Fund, facilitation of loan approval through the issuance of Good Financial Housekeeping Certification, and other program windows subject to specific program guidelines, a capitol press release said./PN
