JOJN Maxwell describes attitude as “the librarian of our past; the speaker of our present, and the prophet” of everyone’s future.
He explains that attitude serves as the front act of our true selves, having roots inside, while its fruits are outside. This is the one that draws people near to us or repels them. It can be our best friend, or our worst enemy. It can either build up or destroy a person.
Nowadays, the present generation puts unpleasant tags to attitude as an invariable reference to an unacceptable and bad personality trait.
Gradually, attitude has been pushed backward from the front line as an essential and relevant ingredient of living in our world. It is in fact the very essence of success or failure. It defines our relationships with our fellowmen. It is our great educator learning from our past experiences. It is the great catalyst of who want to be!
Choosing the attitude is hinged on the capability of a person to choose. It requires meditation and introspection of one’s self, considering every detail on how to change.
The decision would certainly have a life-changing result for one who decides to become better and successful. In the process, dealing with life’s difficulties and challenges would be much easier, and often than not, the solution and relief to such problems would come swiftly and handy.
Through the passage of time, the positive outlook is developed, encouraged that nothing in this world is insurmountable. It is the winning attitude that prevails every time.
Sun Tzu avers in the book, “The Art of War”: “Win first, then go to war!” The right attitude then is the magic key to overcoming anything, everything that comes our way, menacingly threatening our advance to happiness and progress.
Finding the winning attitude builds confidence and courage. It wins more friends. It contributes to productivity. It gains respect and admiration to one who got it.
The world is continually beset with challenges. We either face it squarely, or cower in fear, leaving us in mercy of its lashes. How to confront the challenge will depend on the intensity of our desire to overcome. As always,a winning attitude starts the step to victory./PN
