The ‘red circus’ is in town

YES FOLKS, just when you thought it was going to be your usual day in February, a bit sunny and windy, there’s something more brewing and it looks like it’s already here.

The circus is in town complete with dancing girls, one-eyed midgets, clowns, has-been singers and actors.

Oh well, this circus happens every three years and we call them the midterm national and local elections. As they say, “same shit, different day.”

Added to this motley revue and giving the elections a spicy red flavor are the clown; I mean the pseudo-communists who fancy themselves the “Makabayan bloc”. Take note we’re not doing any “red tagging” or “red saging”, we’re just describing them accurately.

For years, organizations linked to the CPP/NPA/NDF have consistently cried foul over so-called “red-tagging”, portraying themselves as victims of government oppression. Of course, there is no such thing as red-tagging; as I said they’re just being described accurately when it comes to exposing the truth about violent extremists and terror groomers. It’s a matter of public interest—ensuring that the Filipino people are fully aware of deceptive tactics used by groups that operate under the guise of legal activism while serving as fronts for the CPP/NPA/NDF.

Quite simple really: if there is smoke, there is fire. These CPP/NPA/NDF front organizations in Congress need not look any further to understand why they are consistently linked to the insurgency movement. Their own records, public statements, and historical affiliations with the CPP/NPA/NDF exposes them more than any so-called red tagging could.

We are, of course, describing those pseudo-communists in the House of Representatives, particularly those party-list representatives belonging to that so-called Makabayan bloc i.e., and their senatorial wannabees.

The recent senatorial debates exposed the bloc’s true state: in crisis and disarray, their buzz lines contradict each other. Its senatorial bets scramble to answer even the most basic questions: Why can’t you categorically denounce the violence of the armed struggle waged by the CPP/NPA/NDF when you are so quick to condemn the perceived injustices of the state and the alleged abuses of the AFP and the PNP? Why do you insist on holding other officials accountable while dismissing court convictions against your own leaders?

Take note that ACT party-list representative France Castro has recently been convicted of child abuse and kidnapping. Now she even has the temerity to run for the Senate.

Meanwhile, the Talaingod Indigenous Political Structure (IPS) called on the House of Representatives Committee on Ethics and Privileges to act promptly and decisively on the ethics complaint they filed against Castro who struts in Congress despite being convicted of child abuse and kidnapping.

In the eyes of the Talaingod people, the continued inaction on this matter undermines the integrity of the House of Representatives and sends a dangerous message.

All the guerrilla fronts are neutralized and dismantled, save for one developing in the House of Representatives. The CPP/NPA/NDF shifted its focus from armed struggle to parliamentary struggle with the Makabayan bloc aligning with the Ayuda bloc in Congress, meaning they’re no longer in the rural areas but in urban centers. These communist party-lists in Congress are using government resources to undermine the government, while generating billions of monies from government funds.

So, how do we make the circus err…House of Representatives and the Senate CPP/NPA/NDF- or insurgency-free?

Quite simple really, don’t vote for these party-list under the so-called Makabayan block now in a convenient political alliance with the Ayuda block.

Indeed, the House of Representatives seems to be developing as the next CPP/NPA/NDF front as these leftist party-lists are exploiting their new found political alliance with the Ayuda block. The good thing is that we can put a stop to it by simply ignoring these party-list come election time./PN
