CAPIZ – Thousands of residents from various towns in Capiz who were displaced by flood due to continuous rains brought by tropical depression ‘Agaton’ took temporary shelter at various evacuation centers here.
At 11 a.m. yesterday, the provincial government here logged 8,079 evacuees.
The number is expected to increase as search and rescue operations of families trapped in their respective houses and still ongoing.
The towns with flooded barangays are Cuartero, Dumarao, Maayon, Panay, Pilar,Pontevedra, Dao, President Roxas, Sigma, Panay, Panitan,Roxas City and among others.
The provincial government of Capiz, the city government of Roxas as well as the local governments of various towns conducted relief operations for the affected families.
On the other hand, there was a reported casualty in the town of Pilar./PN
