ILOILO City – A motorcycle-riding police officer died in a road mishap in Barangay Botong, Oton, Iloilo yesterday.
Police Staff Sergeant Benjamin Gomez, 45, of Barangay Cabasi, Guimbal, Iloilo was assigned in the Tigbauan police station.
According to the police, Gomez was bound for work around 7:55 a.m. when he hit 65-year-old pedestrian Elna Dela Torre.
Gomez was rushed to the Iloilo Medical City Hospital where he expired.
The elderly, meanwhile, was recuperating at the Iloilo Doctor’s Hospital./PN
