A TEAM consultant of PBA team TNT KaTropa is set to conduct a three-day Christmas Elite Basketball Camp slated from Dec. 28 to 31 at the Talisay City gym in Negros Occidental.
Mark Dickel, an assistant coach of New Zealand Men’s Basketball and a consultant of KaTropa, will spearhead the basketball clinic which will will cater 30 basketeers each for the 11-14 years-old and 15-18 years old.
The 41-year-old Dickel was first selected for the New Zealand national basketball team in 1994 where he was both junior and senior Tall Blacks player of the year in 1995.
In 1997, Dickel played in the World Under 23 championships in Melbourne and averaged 16 points and 6 assists being recognised as a top 5 player at the tournament.
Dickel also represented New Zealand in the 2000 Sydney Olympics and the 2004 Athens Olympics. He played in the 2002 FIBA World Championship, finishing the tournament ranked third in assists per game.
Assisting Dickel in this camp is TJ7 Basketball Skills Training Skills coach Mark ‘Tata’ Belangel, who is a current University of St. La Salle Stingers consultant and assistant coach.
