TNT’s Parks emerges as PBA PH Cup stats leader

MANILA – Despite his absence in the last four matches of the TNT Tropang Giga in the 2020 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Philippine Cup finals against Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Kings, Bobby Ray Parks Jr. still emerged as the stats race winner in the caging bubble.

The former National University Bulldogs standout was fantastic inside the AUF Sports Arena and Cultural Center in Angeles, Pampanga as he led all players with 38.2 statistical points (SPs) average.

Clinching the second spot was Calvin Abueva of the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters, who had 37.1 SPs despite missing a huge part of the eliminations as his suspension was not immediately lifted by the PBA Commissioner’s Office.

At third was TerraFirma Dyip guard Jaymar Perez who has 35.7 SPs while completing the first five were Fuel Masters’ Matthew Wright with 35.65 and Tropang Giga’s Roger Pogoy with 35.64 SPs.

Newly-crowned Philippine Cup champions Kings guard Stanley Pringle barely missed the top five as he landed at sixth spot with 34.8 SPs while Japeth Aguilar was at eighth with 32.9 SPs.

Pringle and Aguilar’s teammate Earl Scottie Thompson made it to the top 10 as he ended up at ninth place with 32.8 SPs, making him an official contender for the “Special Five” to be honored by the PBA in a special awards rites in January.

Meanwhile at seventh place was NorthPort Batang Pier’s center Christian Standhardinger with 34.6 SPs while Fuel Masters’ Jason Perkins completed the top 10 with his 32.7 SPs.

NLEX Road Warriors’ Kiefer Ravena (32.6) and San Miguel Beermen’s Moala Tautuaa (32.5) missed the Top 10 by a hairline. They are followed by Magnolia Hotshots’ Paul Lee, Meralco Bolts’ Chris Newsome and Tropang Giga’s Jayson Castro.

Rounding up the top 25 are Beermen Arwind Santos, Alaska Aces’ Vic Manuel, NLEX’s Kevin Alas, TNT’s Poy Erram, Magnolia’s Ian Sangalang, Rain or Shine Elasto Painters’ Javee Mocon, San Miguel’s Marcio Lassiter, Phoenix’s Justin Chua, NLEX’s JR Quinahan and Alaska’s Robert Herndon.

The top rookies were TerraFirma’s Roosevelt Adams (20.3), Meralco’s Aaron Black (17.3), Alaska’s Barkley Ebona (16.3), Magnolia’s Aris Dionisio (15.9) and Ginebra’s Arvin Tolentino (15.5)./PN
