PIOLO Pascual revealed he is currently observing Ramadan, Islam’s holy month of fasting.
“Just to pay respects dahil sa ginagawa naming pelikula [on Marawi]. That’s why I lost a lot of weight,” he told entertainment reporters on Thursday.
“Kami ni Joyce Bernal, sinamahan lang namin iyong mga Muslim para alam lang namin ang takbo ng isip nila, why they do it, and what they do it for. Ginagawa ko sun up to sundown.”
Pascual also engages in prayers with the help of Robin Padilla, who is the lead star of the upcoming war film which he is producing.
“He (Padilla) gave us iyong mga prayers. Pero siyempre, I still pray to the same God. I am a Born Again Christian. Iyon lang, ino-observe ko lang ang tradition nila which is sun up to sundown,” he said.
According to Pascual, the movie on Marawi is now on its full swing and their team is finalizing some important matters.
Pascual, however, mentioned that they plan to have it screened in an international film festival first before doing a commercial release here in the Philippines.
“We want to concentrate more on sending it abroad first. One of our producers was in Cannes this month just to present our film. There were a lot who are interested,” he said. (ABS-CBN News)
