Toboso latest Negros LGU to offer vax incentives

BACOLOD City – The town of Toboso in Negros Occidental became the latest local government unit (LGU) in the province to offer incentives for getting vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The LGU dubbed it the “VACC 2 SCHOOL” program for teachers.

According to Toboso’s Mayor Richard Jaojoco, every teacher will receive P2,000 if they get vaccinated.

The LGU hopes the incentive will entice the town’s local teachers.

Last month, Escalante City’s Mayor Melecio Yap announced that senior citizens in his city who will get vaccinated against COVID-19 will receive food items.

The town of Don Salvador Benedicto also mulled a raffle draw for the town’s residents who will get the vaccine, although as of this month Mayor Marxlen Dela Cruz has yet to announce if they will push through with the plan./PN
