BACOLOD City – Four persons were caught engaging in illegal gambling in Barangay 20, Victorias City, Negros Occidental.
They were residents Myrna Erasmo, 65; Marjorie Alegia, 50; Benwilson Leones, 48; and Renalyn Jayobo, 35, police said.
Police chanced upon them playing tong-its around 5 p.m. on Aug. 31.
Recovered from their possession were two decks of playing cards and P650 bet money. The suspects were detained in the lockup cell of the Victorias City police station, facing charges for violation of Presidential Decree 1602, which prescribes stiffer penalties on illegal gambling./PN
